Console refugee looking for help on how to switch

I’m sure this has been posted a million and 1 times but I just wanted to be able to do some back and forth.

Anyways, like title suggests, I have been console exclusively my whole life, now 30, Im looking to consolidate some space and get rid of my Xbox and PlayStation and go just for the big rig. My problem is I have no clue where to start. For example, are pre builds ok? If I want to play the hottest newest game, how much am I realistically looking at paying for a rig that ca handle it? Is it even worth if I’ve been console forever? What companies to look for/ avoid etc etc. anything helps, thank you!
