Spider Lily General Conclusion

I just finished this tale and it was excellent.

I thought through the build up that the “yokai” was going to be another Blue Yamauba but with father instead of mother.

By the end, it’s apparent you really were encountering and potentially freeing a cursed yokai from its tragic loop.

Is there another way to interpret the conclusion?

I know in Tsushima and Yotei there are references to yokai and other supernatural things but is this the first tale that seemingly concludes with confirmation of a supernatural event?
