Interesting feedback from editor on Reedsy
Hello,
I reached out to an editor on Reedsy and got this reply:
“Hi …, Based on the word count, I am assuming that this would be a picture book. I specialize in books for older readers, so I don’t think I would be the right fit. For transparency, I should also mention that, strangely enough, I just finished editing a middle-grade manuscript with a similar premise. That one is fiction and it’s a full length novel, but it has a man character named Red who is a red blood cell. I mention this only to reassure you that I have never and would never share clients’ (or potential clients’) ideas with other writers.”
The only other time I shared my manuscript was with FriesenPress. Has anyone ever had an experience like this before? I’m newer to the publishing world so I’m not sure what to think about this.
Ope to your thoughts!
