Waitlisted at 3 schools, no A’s…when to start studying for MCAT retake?
So, I have been very fortunate to interview at 3 programs and with that came 3 waitlists. One established DO program and 2 newer DO programs.
At this point doubting if I’ll get into any of the three. And also scared to get in later as all 3 programs are out of state and would require me to secure housing and finances in a short amount of time.
My question is when do I give up on the cycle as I know my limiting factor is the MCAT. I have mentally prepared to take the test again at this point so it won’t be grueling to hunker back down. Additionally retaking would allow me a better chance to stay at home/closer to home.
For reference, I have been monthly emailing the programs for updates. I have also submitted a letter of intent to the established program.
Stats:
495 MCAT, 3.7 GPA, 3000+ clinical, 1000+ research with 1 pub, great extracurriculars, letters, and writing (so I’ve been told)
