TLDR; Can more plants equal more fish?

Wanted to hear everyone's thoughts and experiences with raising an overstocked tank. I have found success in adding plants and fish over a long period of time, letting the tank find its equilibrium before adding more.

In my 55g, I am going for an oddball semi aggressive community, if that's even a thing. I am likely close to max capacity, but I thought that a long time ago. Everyone gets along well enough, haven't had any casualties due to aggression, but each fish certainly has a personality.

Here's my stocking list:

\- 1 asian upside down catfish - juvenile, not aggressive but very boisterous and 'get out of my way,' he's only 4 inches right now and I have plans for a 125 down the road, he will be my biggest problem in the future

\- 1 leopard bush fish - juvenile, quite docile, being an ambush predator he doesn't bother anyone but can hold his own against tankmates

\- 1 c. popelini cichlid - yes I know african cichlid in a community tank but it's working, he's got about a 4 inch personal space bubble that no one is allowed in but he doesn't target anyone and generally minds his own picking at rocks and driftwood

\- 4 keyhole cichlids - 1 adult 3 juveniles, looking for a pair one day and I will remove the other two. Keyholes are about as docile and curious as they come

\- 1 queen loach - guy at the LFS said most loaches (except clowns and kuhlis) can be kept solo in a community tank. Fish is absolutely clueless, doesn't bother anyone

\- 2 pearl gouramis - they don't bother anyone and are big enough to not get picked on and nobody is a fin nipper

\- 4 yellow mollies - they're mollies they don't care about anything

\- 1 giant flying fox - he's pretty big and chill, no one bothers him

\- 11 tetras - 5 Colombian and 6 diamonds, they bicker with each other but are fast enough to not be bothered by anyone

Sorry for the essay so far, here is my actual point of discussion. Stocking calculators say I'm at 140%, but is that really an issue? I have so many plants growing in and out of the water that there simply isn't enough time for waste to build up. Yes I supposed I could still bomb it by dumping all my food in, but if I feed regularly (about once a day) and keep adding plants and letting the tank adjust, is there a theoretical limit on how many fish I can add? I have had this tank up and running for about 4 years and if the fish are happy and healthy do the numbers really matter?

Thanks for reading, I'd love to see your overstocked tanks. Pardon the Samsung image quality, it's a Samsung
