Any chance my inflammation is still going down after a year on Bimzelx?
My disease came on fast and hard. It took me 2.75 years of failing/not tolerating several biologics until I found Bimzelx. Now I’ve been on it for a year and I can tell I’m doing better but that overall my inflammation isn’t well controlled/I feel like I’m always on the edge of a flare.
I know the conventional wisdom is that you hit max benefit at 6 months on a biologic. But since I’ve been in basically a years-long flare, is it possible that at the one year mark things could still be slowly improving?
I’m at a crossroads of “is this as good as this drug will get” or “is this as good as this disease will ever get.” And I’m kind of spiraling out.
The only biologics I could tolerate that had any positive effects have been Taltz and now Bimzelx. Taltz worked for about 8-9 months then fell off. This makes me feel like only IL-17s will work for me and this was the last one. I’m just not sure what to do from here.
(Noting I also take lefluonomide, Lyrica, and low dose naltrexone as supportive therapies)
