Backstory

So I want some help but also some opinions on the character backstory I created for a character, now I haven’t chosen a class yet but I’m leaning towards bard or sorcerer, so I just want some opinions on the backstory an also any tips or suggestions on what to add to it as well.

It was too quick, Emrys was a young fellow frolicking in the fields with his lover, hand in hand as the two proclaimed their love. Em had troubled in his past but learned to live with his traumas rather than fight with them.

Together they walked along a riverbank, watching the spring air blow. Underneath a tree they both sat, gazing at the crystalline waters as his lover spotted a cluster of beautiful blue flowers. As his lover reached for them, a giant creature arose from the water and dragged him inside, Em absolutely terrified rushed over to try and save him.

But as he grew closer, Emrys heard his lover one final time, “Forget Me Not!” And the water grew still, grief flushed over his eyes as he fell to the floor, grasping his lovers final gift and there he sat for hours. Beneath him and in his arms, the locket he was given.
