Millwork

I'm starting distance learning tomorrow. My department supervisor said I learn more from that then him. What other sources do I need to learn? Would learning from YouTube and how to install doors windows, and about crown moulding help?. Also I feel like networking and build a relationship with each customer I design project for like my own client.
