Why your 'India-specific' SaaS might be failing on Reddit: You're posting in the wrong India.
My product helps with vernacular content creation. My first posts were in r/India and r/StartUpIndia. Crickets. I realized these large, national subs are too broad. The conversation is about politics, funding, and big tech. My niche user—a small business owner in Gujarat creating Marathi social media posts—isn't there. I used a discovery tool to find regional language subs, city-based entrepreneur groups, and hyper-niche forums for specific industries (like r/IndianFashionTech). The communities were smaller, but the engagement was targeted and intense. A post in r/Maharashtra about my tool's Marathi support got more meaningful feedback than anything in the large generic subs. The tool (Reoogle) helped by showing me activity levels in these smaller communities—many were vibrant but hidden. The Indian market on Reddit isn't monolithic. It's a federation of micro-communities. Success means finding your specific tribe, not shouting at the entire country. Are you targeting a micro-India or macro-India with your Reddit strategy?
