How do you see the battery percentage while charging? QC headphones, I have the app

The app won't connect while the headphones are charging, so I can't see the battery percentage. If I unplug them and turn them on, the app will connect and I can see the percentage, but I don't want to keep unplugging to check. I'm on android.
