How would you feel if I asked you out, without ever really talking to you?

Imagine your 16 and a teen girl.

I like this girl and i was planning to ask if she wanted to get food in the first week of summer break or something.

we never spoke but i think she might like me. i was planning to send her a DM on instagram, which is the only social i can find.

i thought some thing like “hi u wanna get food sometime” or something could be cool way to get to know her and stuff.

i told a close female friend about this and she said its kinda weird to be asked out like that if we never spoke to each other. and that she might just look at me alot because we live in the same neighborhood or something. i felt defeated because im prolly never talking to her in school time so.. its wraps?

or should i send the DM?
