Spotting Woodcocks

Hello Everyone,

I'm in New England and have an opportunity to go on a woodcock walk at night, presumably with a group of people, with my local Audubon chapter. I don't think it'll be worth it since a group of people might scare off the woodcocks and it'll be hard to see.

What do you think? Would I be better off going by myself earlier in the day? Have you had any luck spotting woodcocks recently?
