Curious, is after-work drinks still a huge part of your company’s culture?
Our regional management flies in about once a month, and each time there is expectation for all of us to get together for dinner and drinks that extend to close to midnight. Nobody really complains about it, but we’re a mix of late twenties to mid thirties who prefer to go home and unwind after work. It’d be fine if it’s 1-2 drinks, but we’re constantly pressured to order more and teased about it when we decline. Management expressly says that this something they encourage us to do more often.
The conversations are always lively and there has so far been no inappropriate behavior, but im curious to know what it’s like in other companies and how most feel about this.
