So I was trying to crosspost [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FavoriteCharacter/s/VfQTghGBEx) of mine from r/FavoriteCharacter, but it looks like if I try to crosspost it removes anything I try to write below it. So here goes take two!

Basically, what I'm talking about is what TV Tropes would call a "Play-Along Meme", where the fandom will take an in-universe quality of a character and treat it as if it applies to the real world, too.

For instance, if a character was erased from existence, they'll pretend they don't remember them anymore. Or if the character has a power to alter memories/the past, they'll act as if that power also affected them.

Examples of the latter include Tsukishima from Bleach (shown above), for whom it's harder to find people talking about his actual role instead of people talking about how he's their beloved uncle or cousin. And for the former, there's Xion from Kingdom Hearts where if you showed a picture of her, fans would joke that they didn't recognize her (for plot reasons, at least until KH3)

For the record, I'm absolutely not complaining about this, we should do it more often. We should pretend we don't know Superman is Clark Kent every time we discuss the latest Superman movie. Stuff like that.

Favorite characters who fandom has decided to pretend either never existed or ALWAYS existed? (take two)
