2013 Hyundai Accent – Fuse blows, car shuts off when honking, fuel pump replaced
Hi all,
I have a 2013 Hyundai Accent with an electrical issue.
Originally had a no-start, mechanic replaced the fuel pump. After that:
• Car starts and runs for \~2 minutes
• Then shuts off and fuel pump fuse (10A) blows
• Replacing fuse repeats the same cycle
New symptoms:
• If I honk the horn, the car immediately shuts off
• OBD scanner is not working
• Traction control light is ON
This makes me think it’s not just the fuel pump but possibly a wiring short or bad ground affecting multiple systems.
Questions:
1. Does this point to a shared ground or short in wiring harness?
2. Could a pinched wire during fuel pump install cause this?
3. Where should I start — grounds, relay, or full harness inspection?
