Nissan Altima 2014 Check Engine Light on - Need help in determining next steps
Hi,
I have a 2014 Nissam Altima 2.5SL. I got a "check engine light" warning few days back. Went to Autozone first and got P0014 error code on the report. I have also attached the report for reference and I do see some symptoms related to the error code.
My question is - should I again get a diagnostic done at a auto repair shop - when the report clearly mentions that there might be a problem with the exhaust VVT solenoid?
I went to one of the shops nearby and the guy mentioned that if it is related to VVT solenoid - he won't be able to tell me for certain because he doesn't have the tools for it and suggested that I should visit Nissan and get a diagnostic done. I am a bit skeptical about that since the diagnostic at Nissan itself costs 250$. What should I do in this case?
I have also read that going off Autozone report is not the best way to tackle these problems.
Please help me out. Thank you in advance.
