am i overreacting 😭

okay so ik this sounds bad but just listen, im 17F and my boyfriend is currently 18M we've be so on and off. he grew up in a house where there was a lot of yelling and abuse in ways, so he has these episodes where he just gets so mad and starts yelling and sometimes hitting things. the thing is, he always apoligizes after and promises he'd try to stop and he really feels bad for it every time, and he forces me not to tell anyone, even my friends. and everytime i try to tell him how i feel and we should take a break he says it's just bc im too sensitive. i feel like i prolly am overreacting in ways but i hate it when he always yells at me. what do you guys think?
