Itchy scalp/Tension bumps

I finally saved up enough to buy a set of real hair dread extensions (DE & SE), & had them installed recently. I’ve got lots of tiny red bumps on my scalp that I at first assumed were tension bumps. But my scalp is SO itchy & it’s driving me nuts!!! I don’t know if it’s tension bumps or if the dreads themselves that are itchy.

Aaanyway, I’m just asking, what do y’all use to calm itchy scalp? Or does that depend on whether it is tension bumps or scratchy dreads?
