Fanfic tropes here just generally tired of and why

I’ve been deep in the Miraculous fandom for a while now, and having just caught up through Season 6, I decided to dive back into fanfiction. But seriously, what is going on with these tropes?

It feels like every story takes Marinette to a ridiculous extreme. She’s either portrayed as the world’s most unhinged stalker, a 'terrible person' who is suddenly unworthy of her Miraculous, or—for some reason—she’s a long-lost member of the Bat-Family who is suddenly overpowered and flawless.

I wouldn’t mind these tropes if they were used in moderation, but it’s like the fandom has a collective obsession with 'salt' fics. They strip her of the Ladybug Miraculous as early as Season 1 and refuse to give her any room for actual character growth. It honestly feels like people are just looking for a scapegoat to blame rather than writing the character we actually see on screen.
