Decluttering?
Hello all!
I’m (25F) at a time in my life where there’s a lot going on at once. I started a new job that is monotonous enough and good for my brain to decompress, I recently split with my partner of 5 years because he decided he wanted kids and different things in life, just normal human growth over time - no hard feelings although it would be much easier if we were mad at each other, we are stuck in a lease until July but he is working out of town for the foreseeable future, I am a full time BSW student as well as taking a phlebotomy course to have more job options while continuing my degree. I’m going to have to get ready to transition into a roommate situation with my best friend and I’m frightened of the currently economy and how it may look being solely responsible for everything (of my part), and in the midst of all of this - I feel like I’m drowning in clutter.
I am so scared to get rid of things in case I need them later in time. Some things I’ve kept have come in handy at times, don’t get me wrong. But most of it just sits and takes up space. I do not have a place for everything I have. Most of it is small stuff, keep sakes, toiletries, old clothes, bags, left over hobbies.
Despite all of this chaos, I would like to feel decompressed in my own apartment. I feel like my place of living is never TRULY clean. Any tips that can be offered are greatly appreciated. I just want to feel in control of something and also make it easier on myself and my former partner when the time comes to separate out all of our stuff.
Mid-twenties life advice from fellow neurodiverse women is also welcome as long as it is kind LOL. I am looking forward to what the future holds, I have a plan going forward, but life still stings right now.
