Is Crystal Extractor even worth it?

Bashing my head against a wall trying to even get past Swordfish rank on Gwenith Glide and I'm wondering if I should just go and do salvaging until I can come back with Rosewood. Is Crystal Extractor really worth the hassle at level 72?
