Volo, guide to monsters & Mirrormind Crown

So I understand Volo doesn't work with cards like Parallel Lives, though I'm not 100% sure I understand the nitty gritty of it. Would the same apply for effects like Mirrormind Crown. for instance if I have a Nyxbloom Ancient equipped with Mirrormind Crown and Volo on the field, then cast a Sakura tribe elder, would copy of Steve become a copy of Nyxbloom? and if so, does it occur on the stack or when Steve enters.
