Am I able to play physical game on hacked vita?

The game I want to play isn't on the pkgj store so I was wondering if I'm able to just take out the sd2vita out of the game slot and put in the game I want to play safely. Can I do that and just put the sd2vita back in afterwards and have all my games and progress and everything still be there and everything's all good? Sorry if this a repetitive question. Thx.
