Should Christians stay in marriages where both partners are incompatible?

I mean, Jesus said that you should not divorce except in cases of sexual immorality. But sometimes, being in a marriage where both partners are incompatible causes a lot of suffering. Some say that this suffering is just Christian sacrifice for Jesus, and that with God, incompatible marriages can be reconciled. However, others argue that when a relationship is truly incompatible, it cannot be resolved, and staying in it can cause suffering that is not good for growth. What are your thoughts?
