account banned for switching characters?

so my first character, which i created years ago, was in another server apparently which i didnt know. i stopped playing the game for years then i went back to play the game again and apparently my old character is gone because i was in another server now which i didnt know was the case that time.

now i made a new character and played it for months then i found out you can view your other characters in other servers so i checked it out and voila! it is there again! my old character, then i decided to switch back n forth servers to play both my characters then boom! account banned!

i didnt even know that was illegal if that was what got me banned. anyone else had similar issue and got their accounts back? would love to hear any advice to get this resolve 🙏
