Brick won't turn on

My trimui brick is not even a year old at this point. I had knulli on it and was playing fairly regularly, when at one time it refused to turn back on again.

The problem: not turning on, seemingly does not respond to anything. When charging via my PC's USB port, the charging light is briefly green and then red forever. The device gets very hot eventually.

Fixes I've tried:

- Holding down the power button

- Holding down power + vol down

- Pressing the reset button

- Disconnecting the battery

- Using another SD card with the recovery image

- Trying to power on with the battery disconnected, while connected to power via cable

Nothing I do seems to make a difference. Is it really bricked?
