is my housemate faking migraines to get out of chores?

Housemate has been prescribed triptans so there appears to be some medical basis for this; the frequency of the attacks (is averaging 3x a week normal?) suggests a need to see the doctor for some imaging. Has been suggested if they’re that bad but they’ve refused because “effort”.

The migraines appear to be especially prevalent when garbage needs to be disposed of, which leaves me having to do them every week. Other chores (e.g. doing their dishes in a timely fashion) get neglected on the basis of needing to rest due to feeling exhausted from migraines.

The other week, they said they were going to bed because of one and I said “Okay, get some sleep and hope you feel better”, to which I was told “I’m not going to sleep, I’m going to wind down.” Other times I’ve returned from work and seen blue light under the door and gaming noises but been told that they were “resting because of a migraine”. I’ve only ever had a couple of migraines myself but neither time would I have been able to simply “wind down” or game.

I don’t want to be an asshole about things if there is a genuine medical need but it happens so often, around the same times and creates a really uneven distribution of chores. My long commute and working hours mean that I leave early in the morning and come back pretty late in the evening so having to take on some of the stuff that gets neglected (I refuse to let garbage build up in the house, for example) interferes with me eating dinner and getting to bed at a reasonable time, which is also causing me some health problems.

Is my housemate faking or am I being really unreasonable?
