Ideas for Decorating dementia care room

As states in title. My dad packs up everything constantly. I think also things go missing from him hiding stuff and other residents stealing things. He had a chest of drawers a side table, armchair with ottoman, bed and a TV and ensuite. It's a bit stark. I've tried putting up family photos in those big collage frames but he takes them down and they are all on the floor. Honestly better for looking at during visits anyway.

He spends all his time in his room and doesn't go out with the other residents in the main area except for meals and occasional event.

I've got him things like pillows and blankets but they go missing. My brother bought him a stereo but he pulled the cables out while 'packing'.

Ive got him some flowers as I know he likes them (I know they will probably die but that's totally fine)

He loves baby animals a lot since the stroke so got him a baby animal calendar and he loves that. Any ideas or things that worked for you guys?
