[Discussion] Mushi-Shi - has anyone seen this series? And/or do you have equally relaxing favorite shows or movies to recommend?

DISCUSSION

Partly inspirited by the following 13 year old thread in this subreddit:

I thought I'd echo the question, particularly as Mushi-Shi is my favorite beautifully relaxing, meditive anime series.

Season 1 is officially free on YouTube until December 31st 2027 (uploaded by the publisher). Don't let the fact it's anime put you off if you have some aversion to the format, this is very much NOT your typical anime show. It's unique.

There's two 'movie' videos, each contains all of season 1's 26 episodes, one is English subbed, the other English dubbed. As it's one story per episode (all have the same main character) it's perfect just to put on an episode and chill out for 25 minutes - in fact it's best watched this way because a binge watch would kind of ruin it. There's also a season 2, but that's not freely available on YouTube.

Or if you would first prefer to look at a general overview of the series see this excellent video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIZDnQtmFIU (it contains only very minor spoilers as it uses video clips)

Secondly, there's a really lovely and incredibly uplifting 30 minute animated movie from 1987 titled The Man Who Planted Trees - it was made in Canada and is fully narrated so it's available with a French narration and one in English (the English narration is beautifully performed by the late actor Christopher Plummer). It's wonderful. It can also easily be found on YouTube and has been uploaded multiple times over the years. Just search for [4k] The Man Who Planted Trees (1987) - Full Movie (English) (or seek out the French narration if you prefer).

Does anyone else have any very relaxing favorites?
