Looking for a better multiplayer experience

Got several friends into sim racing but it we cannot seem to find a good game to run multiplayer. I know about hosted custom lobbies but these are far and few between, often with childish mods who restart the race the second they spin out.

So, can anyone point me in a direction of a game that has official daily races like iracing/LMU/GT7, but where I can actually party up with a couple friends and join?

So far Forza Motorsports is the only game that seems to allow for this, but I don't think I need to state all the reasons why we do not want to play that game.
