We're the Vegans of TTRPGs and That's Okay!

Discussion

Saw a video recently calling Pathfinder players and GMs the vegans of TTRPGs. The claim was that some of us can't help but tell everyone we meet that we play Pathfinder and that our system is the best system that ever put pen to paper and dice to table.

At first it really bothered me because the guy saying it was being a bit of an ass but the more I thought about it I realized he's right. We are the vegans, crossfit, or linux users of this hobby. We can be a bit much.

But how are we not supposed to tell people about this game? The D&D people constantly complain that their system is broken and needs something to fix it that Pathfinder already does. Or they want to play a class like a Witch or a Gunslinger when we've got those (and have had them since 1E)!

Imagine complaining that you want more fiber and protein in your diet so you're thinking of cooking beans but then getting upset when your vegan friend offers some tried and true bean recipes. Your vegan buddy isn't telling you to stop eating meat. They're offering an option for you to try eating beans when you've very publicly asked how to cook beans.
