What to look for in an AI App Development Company in USA

Most websites make it sound like they’re building some futuristic AI product. In reality, a lot of it comes down to fairly practical things - integrating AI models into existing systems, automating workflows, and cleaning up messy data pipelines.

One thing that stood out to me: the better teams don’t start with “let’s use AI.” They start with a specific problem and only use AI where it makes sense.

For example, instead of 'AI-powered app,' it’s more like:

reducing manual work in operations
improving search or recommendations
helping users make decisions faster

Also, integration seems to be where most projects either succeed or fall apart. It’s not that hard to build a model or a demo - the hard part is connecting it to CRMs, internal tools, or whatever legacy system a company is already using.

Another thing I didn’t expect: a lot of these apps aren’t fully “AI-driven.” They’re regular software with AI layered into specific parts. Which makes sense, but isn’t how it’s usually marketed.

The takeaway so far - if someone is pitching AI without being very clear about the business impact (time saved, cost reduced, etc.), it’s probably not going to be useful in production.
