Advice for good early game runs (FTP)

I recently got my boyfriend into the game, and I’ve been trying to give him advice on how to play, but he’s super early game and I’ve completely forgotten what to even do at that point in the game.

Obviously he’s ftp so it’s going to take some time to build up a good deck, and boost characters and all that, but is there any good metas for someone just starting out to get really good runs or level up fast?
