Can Kpop Demon Hunters be considered as kpop?
I got this topic from something stupid but basically there was an argument about if Kpdh songs are kpop. Many people said that the songs in the movie aren't kpop because there weren't Korean lyrics which obviously there was some but also there are many kpop songs with mostly English lyrics yet those are still considered kpop? There was also Kpop writers behind the songs.
Another argument I saw was the common one where people say that the characters are just pixels and can't be kpop but Plave and Naevis exist? Also, the voices behind the characters are real people.
The most ridiculous argument I saw was that Kpdh can't be called kpop because the voice actors didn't go through the same mistreatment kpop idols did.
The last argument I saw was that the songs in kpdh aren't as good as actual kpop which that's just a personal take but I really do think the songs are pretty amazing.
I find it funny when people disregard the soundtrack so much when a legend who made so many iconic kpop songs was behind the making (My queen Ejae). It really bugs me out when people put down the movie so much because yes it had cringe humor and I can understand it not being for everyone, but I don't think we should be going to the extent of putting down people and the music just because you don't like kpop or the movie in general.
(I'm scared of posting this because I'm aware of how many people despise this movie but I hope I can get some opinions of what makes a song kpop these days.)
