AISSMS Polytechnic, Pune is creating its own system for marks distribution?
Hey everyone,
I’m a final-year diploma student from AISSMS Polytechnic, Pune (MSBTE), and I wanted to share something that honestly feels very unfair.
Today I received my internal marks (47), even after working on a fairly complex capstone project with proper implementation and contribution from my side.
The issue is — in our college, it strongly feels like internal marks are not based on:
- actual practical skills
- project complexity
- or individual contribution
Instead, marks seem to depend mostly on previous academic percentage.
I’ve seen cases where:
- Students with high past % consistently get very high internals
- Even with minimal practical involvement
- While others who actually work and build things get lower marks
This creates a situation where:
- Effort ≠ marks
- Skills are undervalued
- Motivation drops significantly
I want to ask:
- Is this something allowed under MSBTE guidelines?
- Or is this just happening in our college?
- Do other polytechnic students face similar marking systems?
I’m not posting this to attack anyone, but to understand if this is a wider issue or something specific to our college.
Would really appreciate honest responses from other MSBTE students.
Thanks.
