How to change careers when you're tired/burned out from your current one?
So I've been doing lab work for 9 years now (since a freshman in college) and have been doing industrial lab work for 4 years. I've gotten to the point to where Im tired of doing lab work and don't have a desire to be in labs anymore. Unfortunately its starting to reflect in my work. What's scaring me is my mess ups aren't phasing me/I dont care as much as I would in the past. I've been applying to other jobs involving lab data reviews but its been hard to land one when although I have experience in lab data review, using excel(lab computer work), majority of my experience is in labs. I even got asked in one interview why im applying to this job when lab experience is all i have. I also plan to settle down with my husband amd start a family. Being an essential worker working weekends and holidays in a lab setting is not where my mind is right now. I just need some kind of advice as to what to do and if anyone's been in this kind of position? The last thing I need is to get fired from my current job bc obviously I need the money and thats all thats keeping me from quiting. And im not leaving until i have another job lined up. But me getting out of here would be beneficial to everybody at this point.
