Gardening saved me ~$3,000/year… and improved my mental health
Started gardening to attract hummingbirds (random, I know).
Ended up discovering:
- I save ~$2,500–$3,500/year vs hiring landscaping
- It’s legit exercise (burns ~300+ calories/hour)
- It noticeably reduces stress
- My yard looks better than ever
Also: hummingbirds are insanely cool.
Curious if others here have had similar “unexpected ROI” from gardening?
I wrote a breakdown if anyone’s interested.
