need advice on a freezer, reviews are terrible everywhere

I’ve been planning to buy a freezer, but honestly the reviews have me second guessing everything. I’m not even talking about the super budget options from sites like Alibaba, Amazon, or eBay even well known brands like Frigidaire, GE, Maytag, Hisense, and Samsung seem to have some pretty alarming feedback.

Many people are reporting the same problems. For example, I’ve seen multiple GE users say the compressor failed within months and leaked oil everywhere. Samsung owners mention units randomly switching from freezer to fridge mode. There are also quite a few complaints about warranty support being difficult or unhelpful.

At this point I’m considering just getting a smaller unit, maybe from Home Depot or other physical stores like Lowe’s or Best Buy, to minimize risk. Has anyone had a genuinely good experience with a reliable freezer brand recently?
