Honeymoon in Italy – Itinerary Advice (Sept 15 – Oct 3, 2026)
Hi everyone,
We’re planning our honeymoon in Italy from September 15 to October 3, 2026 (18 nights total) and would love help refining our itinerary.
What we want:
- Great food (this is a priority)
- Wineries / wine regions
- Beautiful scenery + some sightseeing
- A mix of lively + relaxing
- Not overly touristy where possible
- Open to trains, driving, or short flights
Must-visit places:
- Rome
- Tuscany (Florence + countryside)
- One of: Sardinia, Puglia, or Sicily
---
Current rough plan:
- Fly into Milan or Venice
- Venice – 3 nights
- Tuscany – 5 nights (home base in countryside, day trips to Florence, etc.)
- Rome – 2 nights
This leaves us with about 8–9 nights to plan, and we’re unsure how best to use them.
---
Questions:
-
Which is best for our last leg: Sardinia vs Puglia vs Sicily (considering food, vibe, and ease of travel)?
-
Are we spending the right amount of time in Rome / Tuscany / Venice, or would you adjust?
-
Does this route make sense logistically, or would you change the order of cities?
-
Any standout areas for a luxurious but authentic countryside stay?
---
We’re happy to splurge on great experiences (hotels, food, wine), but want to avoid wasting time on inefficient travel.
Appreciate any suggestions or itinerary tweaks 🙏
