Just signed up for my first LTS

I'm so excited! I've never been on the ice before so it may be a total disaster but I've purchased padding so I'm prepared 😂

What's your guys' thoughts on rental skates? I've heard they can be pretty bad but I'm not sure I want to drop money on my own skates yet without trying it out first. I have a bunion and use supportive inserts for my normal shoes. Is it ok to put my inserts in rental skates?
