Terrible Experience with Apple Support/Store
I have the AirPods Pro 2 and about a month ago I started to get some weird feedback/crackling sound on both of them randomly about once a day. The issue would resolve when I disconnected/reconnected them.
Since my AirPods are just 11 months old and still covered under warranty, I contacted Apple Support and they gave me a bunch of troubleshooting steps to follow and contact them again if the issue persisted. I cleaned my AirPods, updated them, reset them, updated my iPhone and everything else they asked.
Finally on Friday, on a call with Support, they asked me to share my screen and ran a diagnostics test and the guy told me that there seems to a “sensor issue” with both AirPods and since the product is still under warranty and since Apple doesn’t repair AirPods, I should book an appointment at the Apple Store and they would replace it for me.
I went to the Apple Store (BKC) today. The technician ran a diagnostics test and told me that everything was fine. (In his defence, he showed me the test results on the Mac and iPad and it tracked) But it also had the test result from Friday from the call which had a yellow “Alert” symbol next to it. He said that the symbol just means that the test was not completed and that since there are no issues, they wouldn’t replace them. He then asked me to use them for a while at the Store and let him know if I can reproduce the issue.
I told them that it barely happens once a day and I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. I talked to their Manager/Senior staff and they told me that the store is open until 10 pm and if I want I can sit there and reproduce the issue for them (!!!) It was about noon when I went. They basically asked me to sit there for 10 hours and reproduce the issue for them on a Monday.
When I told them what the Apple Support guy told me, they asked me to contact them for further details on that. Are Apple Support and Store two different entities? What should I do here?
