PSA: Just compound it

A couple months ago I reached 2 years on hrt and instead of reupping from a homebrewer (which glad I didn't try considering how the european market has been working in the past couple months) I decided that "fuck it I'll just do it myself".

At first I thought it would be pretty difficult, but I'm currently getting a PhD in biology, so I assumed I would be able to figure it out. However, all of my proper professional skills are actually completely unnecessary. Its really just a matter of maintaining a semi-sterile environment as you move your compound through filters from one vial to the next. Super easy if you just pay attention!

There was a decent investment up front...about €800 on equipment (some non-consumables I built myself), about €200 on lab testing, and of course the raw materials, so its not immediately super accessible, but if you're just planning to make for yourself it would be a bit less. (For me that number includes a few overkill measures so that I can feel confident in sharing it with others). When I started transitioning I definetly wasn't really in a state where I could have afforded it (a single vial was already a huge expense), but I just wanted to make this post to say that its probably easier than you think it is.

To me it feels extremely worth the investment, now that i can afford it, just for the peace of mind having it on hand provides. I also hope to sell some (as an independent small venture) to recoup the initial costs and just because there's clearly not enough people doing it in Europe right now.
