How do people who work in stores, live in Malta ?

I am thinking of relocating to Malta. And with my education I can work as a shop assistant, it's what I have the most experience in as well.

And my question is, how is the pay, and if there even is, a need for shop workers. Because I can work in Aldi for example, or sell Rolex watches. And this makes a little bit of a difference in pay and work enviroment.

Of course I googled some things, even talked to ai chat, but I'd like to hear from people.

My current plan, is to go there, and just give some stores, where i'd like to work, my CV personally.

I dont really expect to have more than 500e to spend after paying rent and all that, and that's fine. But can I honestly expect, to have that much after paying rent ? And how hard is to actually get a nice place, for a good amount of money ?

Any suggestion you might have is appreciated.
