Sweden Automotive Market Growth in March 2026

Sweden’s automotive market posted impressive month-on-month growth in March 2026, reflecting rising demand across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and newer mobility segments.

The overall market expanded by 40.6% compared with February, underlining strong consumer and business confidence. Passenger cars continued to lead the market, with sales rising from 20,005 units in February to 27,579 units in March.

One of the most striking developments came from the motorcycle segment, which recorded growth of more than 250%. This sharp increase points to growing interest in affordable and flexible mobility options.

Commercial vehicles also delivered a strong performance, with sales climbing 37.2% month on month. The increase suggests healthy activity in logistics, transport, and infrastructure-related sectors.

In the passenger car segment, Volvo retained its market leadership, posting the highest sales volumes in both February and March. At the same time, BMW and Tesla stood out with exceptional growth, highlighting increasing demand for premium vehicles and electric models.

Volkswagen remained the leader in the commercial vehicle category, supported by steady sales growth across both months.
