Navigating dating apps (and/or any recommendations?)
I've been single for almost 4 years, and very much out of choice. But, in the last few months, I've started to feel that want to have someone in my life again.
The thing is, I've changed a lot in those 4 years. The two biggest things are undoubtedly that I realised I was asexual, and that I came out as trans. So, it's fair to say that my identity is a...little different now.
I haven't attempted to navigate any kind of dating, but I can comfortably say I've never known myself better than I do now. Just accepting and naming my asexuality finally helped me understand my feelings around things, namely how I feel about romantic intimacy over physical things. Anyway, keeping it brief, further chats about that are between me and a future therapist 🤭
Which brings me to my conundrum. So, I feel ready enough to want to (tentatively) start getting out there more actively. Not a huge fan of dating apps and never was, but I'm also not the most comfortable in social situations. So...what's the atmosphere like these days on apps? Is it worth putting time/energy in as an ace trans person? TIA.
Side note: happy international asexuality day 💜🤍🩶🖤
