Howdy!

My name is Maya and I’m a senior Biomedical Sciences student at Texas A&M. I’m currently competing in the America’s Favorite Student competition, and today, votes count DOUBLE, so I wanted to reach out to the Aggie community.

I’m a first-generation college student from Houston, and throughout my time at A&M I’ve worked hard to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian, specifically in emergency and wildlife medicine.

While at A&M I’ve been involved in a lot of different areas that mean a lot to me:

• Undergraduate research studying immune responses to Salmonella infections in cattle

• Teaching Assistant for a microbiology lab

• Working as a veterinary technician and assisting in large animal surgery

• Wildlife and conservation work with exotic species

• Founder of the Aggie Healthcare Society, which connects students interested in healthcare fields

• Volunteer with a suicide and crisis hotline helping people in difficult moments

• Peer mentoring for students adjusting to college life

Texas A&M has given me so many opportunities, and I’m incredibly grateful for the community here. Winning this competition would help support my path toward veterinary school and continuing work in animal care and conservation.

Voting is completely free and takes less than a minute. You can vote once every 24 hours, and today votes count double, which makes a big difference.

If you’re willing to help a fellow Aggie out, I would truly appreciate your vote and for you to spread this link around!!

Thank you so much and Gig ’em!

Fellow Aggies — votes are DOUBLE today for America’s Favorite Student. I’d be incredibly grateful for your support!
