Want it to put it out all at once!
Posting it out here to vent out.
My wife (I love her to death). I am almost 32. She is 33.
We are married for 2.5 years, dated for 7 years before that. We are from India. Both of us are working in really demanding jobs.
Just after getting married and settling in one of the costliest cities of India- Mumbai, my wife got diagnosed with Juvenile Parkinson. No fault of hers, she got the defective copy each from her parents.
She always had painful periods with clotting and intermittent spotting, which diagnosed into Grade-4 Endometriosis. Thanks to docs at Mumbai who could diagnose otherwise docs at previous city couldn’t.
Naturally her gynae, a fertility specialist too, operated her and cleared her endometriosis, adenomyosis but removed a fallopian tube because it had hydrosalpinx. Parallelly genecist confirmed that our kid will not Parkinson because I don’t have the gene in my system.
Post her endo op, from sep 2024 to Jan 2025 she was on Lupride injections and all, which stopped her periods and doc suggested us to try naturally but didn’t happen, so we went ivf way.
For ivf she was give menotas injection 300 but it didn’t raise her follicles. Only 2 growing. Next month she was given menotas for 450, which gave her 3 follicles. Eventually long story short, we had 3 embryos all grade-a. Her apple baum was 7/10 (or 17/20). She transferred two, but beta hcg test came negative. This is around oct last year, and finally it broke my wife and doc suggested us to take rest for 6 months.
We went back to her because we still have one embryo frozen. At our insistence she checked her and naturally without any meds or anything her endometriosis has flared up again and the doc who said I will make you pregnant, said-“ you can see other doc but I did what I could. You can think of some alternative.”
Broken, we went to Dr. Firuza Parikh in South Mumbai and her team suggested, we get as many eggs as possible because my wife amh is low- 1.32.
For the same she gave letrozole, with fish oil, omega, coq100. She had terrible waist pain few days back and doc added deviry. Pain has subsided.
She wants to check her up next month and if needed operate eventually to clean endo/ polyp/ chococyst/ haematosalpinx that has developed in 6 months.
The max I could do was to take her to best doctor available in our vicinity. We are a young couple with limited means, finance has taken a toll but we will eventually manage. Beyond that the reason why I am posting here is what is the possibility? Is there any? There is a limit to which my wife can take it. Her career has taken a dent and she is good at it. We didn’t even plan for a kid, rather smoothly led into it to cure her endometriosis. Our sex life has been affected. Hormones make her erratic which I understand but I end up being agitated sometimes too, though I don’t want to.
Will we ever be parents? Will all this be worth it?
Am I doing the right by letting doctors do their job or should I pull the plug and relieve my wife?
