Struggling witht the charger on Raleigh Dover

Hi all,
So I have a Raleigh Dover 7, quite an old bike but I love it. So a while ago the battery died, and I purchased a new one (the old one was really dead). Turned out, the charger was also not working anymore. So I am trying to get a charger for like 6 months already, but unsuccessfully. The shop that I got the battery from does not have the right charger in stock, and cannot say when it will be available. Other battery shops in Europe are the same - out of stock. I bought a few chargers already from amazon, maybe 4 different ones, but they don't charge either. The new battery was full when purchased, so I assume it is functional. Could someone competent tell me what I am doing wrongly in terms of selecting the charger online, please?
