Ainz’s mana

Im currently reading volume 16 and i get the feeling that ainz has low MP? Or is he just cautious, he’s always talking about maintaining his mana. After his fight with decem he was saying he depleted quite abit of mana eventhough it felt like he didnt use tha many spells.
