Replace My Honda Fit

I absolutely LOVE my Fit, so it makes me sad that they'll never bring the Fit back to the US market. My 2013 is getting older. The summer months make me nervous because I can't crank the AC like I used to without the car spasming. It's time to start looking for a replacement, but I am completely unsure of where to turn. I plan to use a car broker because buying at a dealership is such a game. And I'm too tired for their games.

I see Niro, Corolla, Civic, Prius... the only exciting one is the Prius, but I don't understand why cars are so expensive now! My Fit was like $13k and now everything is $30k+
I've only owned Toyota/Honda, so I am mostly loyal to those brands, but I am curious as to what others experiences are with other brands. I want my next car to last 15+ years

My biggest "want" is reliability, then affordability, then gas mileage (other things aren't important). The look isn't too important, but I do like a lot of cargo room for IKEA trips. I hate the idea of being saddled with a car note for 7 or 8 years, but I guess that's exactly what the dealerships want. The whole things feels criminal now.
